Our own Harriet Myers: What US can do, Indian can do one better
George Bush tried to appoint Harriet Myers, a political and legal lightweight with a lot of baggage, to the Supreme Court of the US. The Congress Party in India and Sonia Gandhi have outdone George Bush on two counts:
1. Their appointee, Pratibha Patil, is not just a lightweight, but also comes from a rather shady background
2. She's going to be the President of India!
Harriet Myers didn't have a chance. What about Pratibha Patil?
